a little 80's

Today was a big hair, and dirty dr. pepper kind of a day. My big hair inspired me to pull out this sweater that my mom recently gave me.
A week or so before Christmas my parents cleaned out our coat closet and pulled out some long forgotten clothes from the 80's. My dad gave my mom this sweater when they were dating in 1983, he had a matching one. How incredibly sweet is that? Well long story short there was no way this sweater was going to be sent to the D.I. and one good washing later I now have a brand new old sweater!
How cute are my parents?
I'm grateful to my mom for giving me her old clothes, and her big hair. :)

uhh?

I went back to school shopping the other day, among my purchases were this super comfortable, and adorable shirt! I paired it with leggings and wedges for a really comfortable outfit. I'm an awkward model but It's a cute outfit so I guess that makes it ok? haha
/  Do you ever go to write a blog post and the words wont come? That's what's happening with this one for me, writers block. So I think I'll just ramble about the fact that I start school next week at and actual real University that isn't two blocks wide like Snow was. I might throw up, pair that with the fact that I haven't been to school in nearly a year, and again I might throw up. I might as well be a freshman again, great. Well wish me luck on this adventure and hope that I keep my breakfast down the first day and don't look like a lost puppy. I'll keep you updated.

I'm a weirdo, it's a true story.
And this is where a little cropping and editing can get you.

skirts, bows, and mary jane's, oh my!

This is my first ever outfit post. My outfit for church today just came together really well and so I thought I would share it with you all. I love the vintage, simple and feminine vibe that it gives. Disclaimer: Please excuse my awkward modeling.

I like to call this my school teacher skirt. I love the classic/ vintage look of it. I also love the fact that its modest and long enough to wear to church! It's almost impossible for me to find skirts and dresses (with the exception of maxi skirts) that are long enough for me.
These are my favorite shoes, I cannot tell you how much I love Mary Jane's! I think they are the perfect vintage shoes. When I found these (even though they are kind of monsters and the heels are 4 inches tall) they had to be mine. They're also my favorite color, so how could I not love them?

My shirt has little bows all over it, I thought it added a little fun detail to my outfit. I also added these bright fun pink and orange earrings. The belt I'm wearing came with the skirt, so I can't take credit for that.
Nothing makes me feel more like I'm in an old fashioned movie than having to lift my skirts as I'm walking/running somewhere.
My Skirt is from: Modcloth
My Shirt is from: Forever 21
My Shoes are from: Forever Young Shoes
And my Earrings are from: Shopko (Oddly enough I always find really cute jewelry there!)

I hope you enjoyed my first outfit post. It's nothing fancy, just some fun pictures around my yard, but let me know if you want to see more posts like this!
